The Father Of A Girl With Cancer Who Died In The American Airlines Disaster Shares A Text That Led Him To Believe Something Was Not Right

A father who lost his wife and 12-year-old daughter in the tragic American Airlines crash has shared his thoughts on what made him realize something was wrong.

On January 29, a PSA Airlines plane collided mid-air with a Black Hawk helicopter near Washington D.C. The plane, carrying 60 passengers and 4 crew members, and the helicopter crashed into the Potomac River. All 64 people on board the plane and 3 on the helicopter are believed to have died.

Andy Beyer, who was waiting to pick up his wife Justyna and daughter Brielle after a figure skating event, became worried when the plane failed to land on time and he couldnโ€™t get through to them. His worst fears were confirmed when an air traffic controller friend confirmed the crash.

Beyer described his daughter, a cancer survivor and aspiring figure skater, as a fighter who lived life to the fullest. A GoFundMe has been set up to support the family during this tragic time.
