Recently, Dick Van Dyke, the renowned actor, and his wife, Arlene Silver, had to deal with the intense wildfires that were ravaging Southern California. The well-known Mary Poppins performer, who is currently 99, decided to stay at his cherished Malibu house in spite of these difficult conditions.
During an Instagram Live session, Arlene, 53, provided information about their predicament and boldly stated that, despite numerous properties being harmed, their home is currently safe.
Arlene revealed from her vehicle that although there was a small incident involving their guest home catching fire, the damage was thankfully minimal. In Malibu and the surrounding areas, many homesโincluding those of celebritiesโhave not been as fortunate.
Dick and Arleneโs home in Malibu is without power due to the Palisades fire, which has severely damaged the quaint coastal village of Pacific Palisades. To keep everything running during the crisis, they rely on a reliable gas generator. Arlene freely acknowledged that neither she nor Van Dyke feel the need to leave their beloved home, even in the face of natureโs hard testing. The experienced actor has seen it all; in this picturesque area, flames are nothing new to him.

โKeeping Dick warm and amused during these times has been my top priority. We donโt have Wi-Fi since we donโt have regular electricity. To cook and charge our gadgets, weโve been improvising using a camper,โ Arlene said.
โDick finds comfort here more than anywhere else; itโs where he feels most cared for,โ she said warmly. โI canโt imagine any other seniors enduring this the way he does,โ Arlene said reflectively.
The Hollywood legend had to evacuate again just last month, just before his 99th birthday, since the Franklin fire was almost encroaching on their Los Angeles residence.
