He’s 65, she’s 12. Watch people’s reactions when they get married

It might be a coworker, friend, or neighbor. a relative, friend, or acquaintance.

A World Bank and Save the Children research claims that 30,000 girls get married every day. That equates to one girl every three seconds, or 20 girls each minute. In actuality, almost 700 million women worldwide were married when they were still minors, according to Unicef. They lose their power to govern their own life, are cheated out of childhood, are not given access to education, and are exposed to early pregnancies.

It can seem distant to you, or you might believe that industrialized nations are exempt from it. However, what would happen in New York if it occurred during the day?

It occurs frequently, everywhere in the world. YouTuber Coby Persin decided to conduct a social experiment in order to draw attention to the issue of child marriage and demonstrate why it shouldn’t be disregarded.

We are not going to witness a real, sanctioned child marriage. Despite the fact that it may be uncomfortable, it is crucial to watch. We must raise awareness of this problem and bring it to light.

Coby Persin set up a fictitious wedding between a 12-year-old girl and a 65-year-old man in order to test how people would respond.

The experiment was carried out in the center of New York’s Times Square.

Coby participated in the experiment as a photographer feigning to capture the 65-year-old and his 12-year-old bride’s wedding photos.

They clasped hands and posed. Gazing down at his new bride, he grinned.

Initially, people just passed by and gazed.

However, the longer the experiment lasted, the more irate people got.
