A widowed Jewish lady, still elegant and in very good shape, was sunbathing one afternoon on a quiet, deserted beach near Tel Aviv.
The sun was warm, the sea was calm, and for once, there was almost nobody around. She was enjoying the silence when she noticed a man about her age walking along the sand.
He was also in good shape, nicely dressed for the beach, and had a calm, pleasant look about him. He placed his blanket not far from hers, sat down, opened a book, and began reading.
The woman glanced at him a few times, smiled to herself, and decided there was no harm in starting a conversation.
โHello there,โ she said warmly. โEnjoying the day?โ
The man looked up from his book and smiled politely.
โYes,โ he replied. โThe sun is beautiful, the sea is wonderfulโฆ itโs a perfect day. And you?โ
โPerfect,โ she said. โI love coming here when itโs quiet.โ
They chatted for a few minutes about the weather, the beach, and how peaceful everything was.
Then, after a short pause, she leaned a little closer and lowered her voice.
โTell me something,โ she whispered. โAre you circumcised?โ
The man looked up from his book, slightly surprised, and answered honestly.
โNo, Iโm not.โ
The woman smiled and said, โWell, then, youโre not missing much!
